Star Surround – HST Week

Despite spending all afternoon yesterday replacing my router, I’ve managed to get upstairs to the sewing room to keep projects moving along. Actually, it might be because of the fiasco that I retreated in the sewing room. Over the span of 24 hours, I had to take 3 trips to Walmart, chat with service techs at both the cable company and the router company, call the router company techs, and move the entertainment center all around to connect and reconnect cords. End result… an upgraded router fast enough to Skype. And I will say that the photo for the blog also just uploaded quite quickly, so I guess there are some fringe benefits. Still after all that hassle, I wanted two things…sewing and chocolate.

I’m keeping up with the star surround quilt-a-long. Since I’ve chosen to just do one super sized 40 inch block, this week’s assignment was a cake walk. I only had to piece and trim 16 HSTs. Next week, I’ll have to complete my quilting arch nemesis — flying geese. So, I’ve got to revel in the happiness of an easy week this week.

It’s not too late to join in. I’m loving this QAL so far. Melissa gives clear directions and helpful hints. And, last week for the cutting week, 81 people posted their fabrics. There’s not going to be any lack of inspiration on this quilt along. And, if you would opt to do a super sized 40 or 48 inch block, it would be easy to catch up by next week’s linky and qualify for the weekly prizes.

  1. They look fantastic. I just love your bold colors šŸ™‚ And hopefully you will find the no waste flying geese method to your liking so they won’t be your arch enemy anymore šŸ™‚ Time will tell šŸ™‚

    • Thanks, Melissa! I used one form of no waste technique before, but I also was still having tension problems with my machine, so fingers crossed that this time will go better.

Whatcha' thinking? I enjoy hearing from my blog readers. Thanks for taking a few minutes to visit today.
